Conflict minerals

As a leading company in the field of precious metals technology, it is an obligation to offer our clients only products, which are manufactured according to the latest standards and meet the requirements of our most demanding customers.  WIELAND Edelmetalle is aware of its social, environmental and economic responsibility and we are engaged in economical, human and environment-friendly, which means sustainable use of limited natural resources.

To ensure this includes also, at any time, that our products do not contain any raw materials from illegal sources or ethically questionable mining methods in developing countries.  As a visible sign we have been certified from the internationally recognized organization cfsi (conflict-free sourcing initiative) by an independent third-party audit as "conflict-free smelter" and accordingly listed.

The cfsi was founded 2008 by members of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI). The cfsi's aim is to assure conflict-free and transparent supply chains in particular for the international electronics industry.  With more than 340 companies and associations from over 10 industries cfsi is today one of the globally most recognized partners for companies that want to deal responsibly with the challenges of conflict materials in their supply chain.

With the certification as "conflict-free smelter / refiner" WIELAND assumes responsibility for its international customers and creates trust and safety in its products. This certification also meets the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements concerning the "Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform and Consumer Protection Act".
